Episode 1: Epilogue - Failure

She wasn't happy. That's for sure. But this intense sadness and despair was better than nothing. Because nothing is what she felt most of the time.

She didn't have a voice. She didn't have a body. She had never felt physical pleasures, and in her understanding even pain counted as one of them. Because pain was better than nothing. Because nothing is what she felt most of the time.

Then something happened that she had not forseen; something that had not happened before. The source dried out. And what an excellent source it had been. But something had stopped the flow of emotions. Her minion reported what had happened. It was a minor obstacle. It wasn't a problem. If she couldn't drain one source over a longer period of time then a higher number of sources would have to make up for it.

She enjoyed the human's emotions as long as they lasted, but once they were used up she was left with the one emotion that she could call her own. Greed.
